1. Who we are and what these terms cover

USMLEWise is operated by [Registered company name], [Registered business address]. These terms govern your use of usmlewise.com and all content available through it. Our Privacy Policy forms part of these terms.

2. Eligibility and your account

• You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter a binding contract.
• You must give accurate registration details and keep them up to date.
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account.
• Accounts are personal. You may not share your login, sell or transfer your account, or let anyone else use it.

We monitor for signs of account sharing. Where we find it, we may suspend access without refund.

3. Memberships and purchases

• Full membership gives access to all courses available under that plan.
• Match membership gives access to all courses except the USMLE Steps category, together with access to the MatchMaker tools at matchmaker.usmlewise.com.
• Individual courses may be bought separately and remain available to your account.

The specific content included in a plan may change over time as we add, update or retire material. We aim to add more than we remove, but we do not guarantee that any particular course will remain available indefinitely.

4. Prices, payment and promo codes

• Prices are shown at checkout before you pay, in the currency stated there.
• Payments are handled by Stripe. By purchasing you also accept Stripe’s terms.
• Promotional codes are valid only for the period, discount and usage limit set when issued, and cannot be combined unless we say so.
• You are responsible for any taxes or bank charges that apply in your country.

5. Refunds

If the platform is not right for you, contact admin@usmlewise.com within [refund window, e.g. 14] days of purchase and we will consider a refund. We may decline a refund where a substantial portion of the course has already been consumed or downloaded, or where we find the account has been shared.

If you are a consumer in the UK or EU you have a statutory 14-day right to cancel distance purchases. By starting a course within that period you acknowledge that you request immediate access and may lose that cancellation right once the content has been supplied. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

6. Your licence to use our content

While your access is active, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to view and use the content for your own study. You may download materials we provide for download and keep them for your personal use.

You may not:

• copy, record, screen-capture, re-upload or redistribute course videos or materials;
• share content with anyone who has not paid for access;
• sell, sub-licence, or use the content to build a competing product or teach a paid course;
• attempt to bypass access controls, scrape the platform, or use automated tools against it;
• remove any copyright or ownership notices.

7. Intellectual property

All courses, videos, notes, slides, graphics, branding and platform software remain the property of USMLEWise or its licensors. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership to you.

8. Content you create

Notes you write remain yours. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store and display them back to you within the platform. We do not publish your notes or share them with other students.

9. Educational purpose — important

Our content is provided for education and exam preparation only. It is not medical advice and must not be used to diagnose or treat any patient. Always rely on current clinical guidelines, your institution’s protocols and your own professional judgement.

We do not guarantee any particular exam score, USMLE Step result, residency interview or match outcome. Results depend on your own preparation and on factors entirely outside our control. Any examples of past student outcomes are illustrative, not a promise.

10. Availability

We work to keep the platform available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may suspend access for maintenance, upgrades or security. Some lessons are delivered through third-party video providers whose availability we do not control.

11. Suspension and termination

• You may stop using the platform at any time and ask us to close your account.
• We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, particularly the sharing and redistribution rules, or if payment fails or is reversed.
• Where we terminate for a serious breach, no refund is due.

12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The platform is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or exam or career outcomes. Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform develops. When we make a material change we will update the version above and ask you to accept the new version next time you sign in. If you do not accept, you may stop using the platform and request a pro-rata refund of any unused paid period.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of [Country/State whose law governs], and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers may bring proceedings in their country of residence where mandatory law allows.
